Warner: Tebow can't go on like this
NFL Network analyst Kurt Warner, the only man ever to start an NFL game over Eli Manning, has spoken extensively this week about Manning and Tom Brady.
But I liked this bluntly honest assessment of Tim Tebow Wednesday:
"I think he’s a great kid. I love the way he represents himself. I love his attitude toward life and toward football and I think all those things bode very, very well for him. But I’m also a realist and a quarterback and believe that if he plans on going to go where he wants to go as a quarterback he’s going to have to develop a better presence in the pocket. He’s going to have to become a better passer.
"I’m definitely not going to say he can’t do it, because if there’s one guy who I definitely feel will work and do everything he can to get better I think it’s Tim. But I don’t believe he can sustain a long career playing the way that they played this year. I think he’s going to have to develop the way he passes the football and sees things in the pocket if he wants to have a long career and have success."
