T-Rock's Take on the Giants
Kevin Gilbride pointed to two areas as the reason for the Giants’ 28th-ranked offense in 2013: the offensive line and the wide receivers.
The line was clearly an issue as its lack of depth became exposed due to injuries. The Giants used seven different starting combinations and, had they played another game, would have gone to an eighth. That, Gilbride said, changed the way the Giants were...Read more »

Will Beatty had surgery last week to repair the fractured right tibia he suffered in the regular-season finale, but he suffered no ligament damage to the knee and is expected to make a full recovery for the 2014 season.
The injury could put a dent in his offseason work, which Beatty said last month would be crucial to moving past a forgettable 2013 campaign. After signing a five-year, $37.5...Read more »
The Giants aren’t only going to be dealing with 24 unrestricted free agents this offseason. They could also be dealing with two of their highest-paid players who are already under contract for 2014.
Antrel Rolle and Eli Manning are scheduled to earn a combined $22.15 million in base salary in 2014 and count for a combined $29.65 million against the salary cap. If the cap remains the same as...Read more »
Hakeem Nicks isn’t worried that his lackluster statistics over the last two years will diminish his value as a free agent this offseason.
“I still know what I’m capable of doing,” he said. “I still consider myself one of the top receivers in this league and I’m going to go out and prove it.”
Nicks caught 56 passes for 896 yards this season, which ranked 57th and 32nd in the league, respectively....Read more »
Don’t count on David Wilson being in the Giants’ backfield next season. Because the Giants sure aren’t.
The second-year running back and former first-round pick missed most of this season with a disc injury in his neck as well as a diagnosis of spinal stenosis and may have surgery this offseason.
“I think we’ll have to have some contingency plans at the running back position,” general...Read more »
Players typically clean out their lockers the day after their season ends, but for the Giants that chore had deeper indignity this year. In a few weeks another team will be invading their space as Quest Diagnostics Training Center becomes the Super Bowl home for the NFC representative.
“Whoever they are, I hope they don’t trash the place up and they respect it like we do,” Terrell Thomas said....Read more »
Justin Tuck said on Monday he’d love nothing better than to retire as a Giant. And after a season in which he recaptured the form that made him one of the best pass rushers in the NFL, it looks as if it’s possible he’ll get his wish.
Tuck, who finished with 11 sacks (his most since 2010), goes into the off-season as an unrestricted free agent. But he already has a meeting scheduled with team...Read more »
Not even ironman Eli Manning could finish this season.
The Giants’ quarterback left the game with an ankle injury late in the second quarter of Sunday’s game against the Redskins at MetLife Stadium. The injury occurred on a first-and-10 pass in which Manning was pressured by Chris Baker, took a hit after he threw an incompletion, and rolled over his left ankle.
Manning remained on the...Read more »
It’s been a strong year for Antrel Rolle, quite possibly a Pro Bowl year. But one series of plays still haunts him.
It also happens to be the series that essentially ended the Giants’ season on Nov. 24.
“Nine times out of 10 I come out on top,” he said of the challenges the Giants coaches pose to him in terms of versatility and game-planning. “One time this year I didn’t this year I...Read more »
