A bit of an abbreviated practice today, about an hour and a half, and most of it was off of cards once again. So here’s your abbreviated practice report:

The big news was that Henry Hynoski came off PUP, but he didn’t wind up doing much more than he had been. About the only difference was he was doing it with the rest of the team and not on a field to the side with the other shunned PUPpies....

Antrel Rolle was coy about when he might return to practice, but not what he’ll do when he does.

“You’ll see when I see,” he said. “I don’t know. Whenever I’m out there you’ll know I’m out there. I’ll make a lot of noise.”

Rolle was doing some intense agility drills and running yesterday and looked like he was on the verge of returning. It was last Monday that he sprained his ankle and...

Practice report: Debut of new O-line, Eli hits Randle twice, Rolle coming along

There wasn’t much in the way of live action at today’s practice as most of it was done off cards. But that doesn’t mean there wasn’t news.

For instance, we saw the new shape of the Giants’ offensive line for the first time. With David Baas out for a few weeks, the team decided to make three moves to replace him. They shifted Kevin Boothe from left guard to center, moved David Diehl from right...

Practice report: Donnell goes down, good news on JPP, and a fight on the last play

Well, I don’t think THAT was scripted on the scouting cards.

Most of practice was played off of the diagrams that the coaches make up to prepare for the upcoming opponent, so there was very little in the way of live action. Guys were playing hard and there were some interesting things to note, but most of it was just working on fits and placements in shells.

Until …

Stevie Brown came out to talk to reporters before practice Friday, which is just one of the differences between last year’s training camp and this one for the Giants safety.

“I didn’t have to do interviews with this many cameras and stuff last year,” he said. “I just got to eat lunch and go back.”

Ah, the good old days of obscurity. Of course having eight interceptions in a season and...

Practice report: Laron Scott grabs attention, Antrel is out and about, David Wilson throws a TD pass

Giants running back David Wilson gets ready to

(Credit: James Escher)

It’s usually not a great day for the offense when the best catch at practice is made by a cornerback. But that was the case today as the Giants practiced in full pads outside in a ripping breeze that made for a legitimately chilly afternoon. The wind was playing with anything that was thrown or kicked into the air – Steve Weatherford was warming up by popping 70-yard punts or so over the fence and...

Rolle: 'Boots are for wimps!'

East Rutherford, NJ - August 12, 2013: New

(Credit: James Escher)

Two days after spraining his ankle and being carted off the practice field, Antrel Rolle walked out of the Giants’ facility without any noticeable limp and, most notably, without the protective boot that he was wearing yesterday.

“Boots,” he declared, “are for wimps.”

And Rolle doesn not consider himself to be a wimp. Nor does anyone else associated with the Giants. Even Tom Coughlin...

So, who is Ryan Mundy?

Well, he played for three seasons at Michigan and one year at West Virginia after he graduated. He was drafted by the Steelers in the sixth round in 2008 and played on their practice squad team that year. In four seasons on the Steelers’ active roster he played in 64 regular-season games and started five. He has one career interception. And, if Antrel Rolle is still...
