T-Rock's Take on the Giants
It was almost as if Eli Manning was so concerned about defusing the idea that he will no longer throw deep passes in the new West Coast system that he purposely came out chucking it long on Monday. He took several vertical shots down the field, maybe more today than he has all of the previous practices combined.
It would have been a more effective argument if he had completed one of them.

Giants veteran safety Antrel Rolle has expressed an interest in remaining with the team for the rest of his career, but it looks like this may be his last season in New York.
Rolle, 31, said there have been no discussions with the Giants about extending his deal. He is in the final year of a five-year, $37 million contract he signed in 2010.
Rolle doesn't appear troubled...Read more »
Antrel Rolle was the Giants’ best defensive player in 2013. His position coach said he can still be better.
“Antrel is now starting to understand and develop as a safety,” coach Dave Merritt said on Thursday. “He was a corner as we all know, drafted out of Miami. Then all of a sudden he was a safety. He’s now starting to understand the position more than ever. Before, he didn’t see formations,...Read more »
The Giants brought in a lot of new faces this offseason, particularly in the secondary. Usually it takes some time for pieces to meld together in such situations, but Antrel Rolle said the Giants’ chemistry is so good right now it actually tops what he has experienced in previous years when there was far less roster turnover.
“I think this group and this unit that we have here is definitely...Read more »
On Tuesday, Antrel Rolle downplayed the significance of being the only returning captain on the Giants' defense. With Justin Tuck gone and Jon Beason entering his first full season with the team, it is clear that Rolle will assume a much larger leadership role with the team this season. He just didn’t see it that way.
“I just go out there and play ball,” he said when he spoke with reporters...Read more »
In a perfect world the Giants wanted to sign a kick returner who could also play wide receiver. That was why they had interest in Jacoby Jones and Ted Ginn Jr. before they signed elsewhere. Well, the NFL is not a perfect world. And with the team still looking to upgrade its return game it agreed to terms late Saturday night with safety Quintin Demps.
Demps most recently played for the Chiefs...Read more »

The Giants aren’t only going to be dealing with 24 unrestricted free agents this offseason. They could also be dealing with two of their highest-paid players who are already under contract for 2014.
Antrel Rolle and Eli Manning are scheduled to earn a combined $22.15 million in base salary in 2014 and count for a combined $29.65 million against the salary cap. If the cap remains the same as...Read more »
Players typically clean out their lockers the day after their season ends, but for the Giants that chore had deeper indignity this year. In a few weeks another team will be invading their space as Quest Diagnostics Training Center becomes the Super Bowl home for the NFC representative.
“Whoever they are, I hope they don’t trash the place up and they respect it like we do,” Terrell Thomas said....Read more »
It’s been a strong year for Antrel Rolle, quite possibly a Pro Bowl year. But one series of plays still haunts him.
It also happens to be the series that essentially ended the Giants’ season on Nov. 24.
“Nine times out of 10 I come out on top,” he said of the challenges the Giants coaches pose to him in terms of versatility and game-planning. “One time this year I didn’t this year I...Read more »
