T-Rock's Take on the Giants
Darth Vader? No, it’s just Terrell Thomas.
Although it’s easy to see where the two can be confused, especially on Wednesdays when the Giants cornerback strolls into the locker room wearing a space-age looking triangular mask over his nose and mouth and breathing audibly, just like the Star Wars villain.
What Thomas is actually doing is trying to make his workouts more efficient and wearing...Read more »
Antrel Rolle didn’t go there. The safety said that he is not allowing himself to even imagine a loss to the Cowboys on Sunday, but he never said the words.
Jason Pierre-Paul didn’t go there either, although he came close. “I was almost going to say we’re going to win it,” he said earlier this week. “You never know.”
Today, Terrell Thomas spoke the phrase that ripples through rivalries...Read more »
You’d think that while Terrell Thomas was sitting out rehabbing from a torn ACL last season he was drawing some inspiration from what Adrian Peterson was able to accomplish.
“Nope,” Thomas said. “Not even a little bit.”
Just months after having his ACL torn in December 2011, Peterson ran for 2,097 yards in 2012 and was named the MVP and Offensive Player of the Year in the league. But...Read more »
There was no sign of relief for the Giants’ offensive line at practice today.
Neither Chris Snee (hip) nor David Baas (neck) were on the field with the team during the portion of the workout open to the media. With one more day of practice remaining, there continues to be slimmer and slimmer chances that the two veterans will be ready to play on Sunday in Kansas City.
David Diehl did...Read more »
Game notes for NFL teams usually have a section in which they point out the various connections between the two teams. Guys who played together in college, coached together a lifetime ago, or grew up in the same hometown. And there will be plenty of those when the Giants face the Panthers on Sunday.
But Giants cornerback Terrell Thomas and Panthers linebacker Thomas Davis have a connection...Read more »
One of Terrell Thomas’ goals last year was to win Comeback Player of the Year. He wound up missing a second straight season and, looking back, he probably wouldn’t have even been in the conversation with Peyton Manning and Adrian Peterson.
This year he’s again hoping to capture that honor. But if he doesn’t?
“It’s not a problem,” he said. “I’ve done enough overcoming two ACLs and I’m...Read more »
As a safety, Cooper Taylor is used to being the last line of defense. But being the only one? That’s a little jarring.
So when the rookie looked at the depth chart after this weekend’s cuts and realized that he’s the only other true safety on the roster besides starters Antrel Rolle and Ryan Mundy, it caught his attention.
“It’s something you definitely see, that there are no other guys...Read more »
The next stop for Terrell Thomas is the regular season. At least he hopes it is.
The cornerback hasn’t made the team yet, but he feels confident that coming off of back-to-back ACL surgeries he has shown enough that he’ll be part of the 53-man roster when it is whittled down this weekend.
“I did everything they asked me to do,” Thomas said. “From day one of OTAs I’ve been out there,...Read more »
Well, training camp 2013 is in the books. The team breaks camp Wednesday and when they arrive for work Thursday, things will be vastly different. Wait, what? They won’t be? Oh. Nevermind then.
The last day of training camp used to be ceremonious, with the Mayor of Albany coming to wave goodbye and the players jumping in their cars for the drive down the Thruway. The Albany 500, we called it....Read more »
Well, I don’t think THAT was scripted on the scouting cards.
Most of practice was played off of the diagrams that the coaches make up to prepare for the upcoming opponent, so there was very little in the way of live action. Guys were playing hard and there were some interesting things to note, but most of it was just working on fits and placements in shells.
Practice ended...Read more »
