T-Rock's Take on the Giants
One thing about the new Giants offense was obvious at Wednesday’s minicamp practice: It was louder.
But not because of the players.
Instead it was the coaches who were barkin’, screamin’, cajolin’, yellin’ (and yes, sometimes cussin’) with the kind of urgency that a team feels when it has one day of work remaining before a month's vacation and the start of training camp.

For seven years I’ve been covering Eli Manning, and in all that time I’ve been asking the wrong questions.
Jay Mohr suffers from no such deficiency.
During a radio interview on the Jay Mohr Sports show on Fox Sports Radio today, Mohr got Eli to admit that while Peyton is a better quarterback, he is a better singer … and a better lover.
During the interview, Mohr gave Eli a “pop...Read more »
Odell Beckham Jr. thought the Internet hoax involving him and a fictitious fiancée was funny at first.
“It was all a joke to me,” the Giants’ first-round pick said on Thursday in his first public comments since the scam unraveled. “I heard about it a long time ago and I kind of laughed and I thought it was funny. It slowly, slowly progressed. I was like, ‘This is not good.’ Then it got to...Read more »
When Quintin Demps signed with the Giants, it seemed like his immediate impact would be on special teams. The Giants were looking to boost their kickoff return game and Demps gave them speed and experience at the position (plus an in-person audition from when he returned a punt for a touchdown against the Giants in Kansas City last year). That he played safety was kind of an afterthought.

The Giants brought in a lot of new faces this offseason, particularly in the secondary. Usually it takes some time for pieces to meld together in such situations, but Antrel Rolle said the Giants’ chemistry is so good right now it actually tops what he has experienced in previous years when there was far less roster turnover.
“I think this group and this unit that we have here is definitely...Read more »
A day after David Wilson got the good-but-not-great news that his neck is healing properly and that he should be cleared for the start of training camp -- but hasn't been cleared yet -- Tom Coughlin was happy that his running back seems to be on the road back to the field.
“No question about it,” Coughlin said. “Four-and-a-half months out (from surgery), looking forward to August. Progress...Read more »
Roster spots don't stay open very long in the NFL, so the Giants have already replaced Will Hill with another safety. The team signed undrafted free agent Kyle Sebetic from Dayton. Sebetic made the announcement on Twitter.
“Took a step towards my dreams and signed with the New York Giants today,” he wrote. “Beyond thankful for the opportunity and can’t wait to keep working.”

Don’t think the first day of OTAs is important? Let’s go back to last year’s and see what kind of tone the opening of team workouts set for the rest of the season.
We all went into the start of OTAs in 2013 thinking the big story would be the absence of Victor Cruz. Well, it turned out that the real issue was the absence of Hakeem Nicks, who had been working with the team throughout the offseason...Read more »
The Giants may not have drafted a tight end, but they added undrafted free agent Xavier Grimble to their ranks. Grimble played at USC and came out of school a year early.
“I have no doubt if I put the time in, put the work in, you never know what the future holds,” he said. “I’m going to work extremely hard. This is the NFL, this is the last shot so this is a great opportunity to try to attack...Read more »
Adrien Robinson believes there is still time to live up to the description Jerry Reese saddled him with on the day he was drafted just over two years ago.
“At the time, I didn’t think much of it, people kept talking about it,” Robinson said last week when talk once again resurfaced of his being introduced to Giants fans as “the JPP of tight ends.” This was at a time when Jason Pierre-Paul...Read more »
