The Pro Football Hall of Fame took down a photograph of former New England Patriots tight end Aaron Hernandez, according to The (Cleveland) Plain Dealer, after receiving several complaints about it this week.

The picture shows Hernandez, who was arrested and charged June 26 with murdering Odin Lloyd, high-stepping into the end zone for a touchdown in a 2010 game against the Green Bay Packers. The photo was selected as part of the Hall of Fame's annual photo contest.

"In the spirit of good taste we thought we'd take it down," Joe Horrigan, vice president of communication and exhibits for the hall, told The Plain Dealer.

The Patriots released Hernandez just a couple of hours after his arrest.
