Brett Favre fined $10,000 for illegal crackback block
Just heard from the NFL that Vikings QB Brett Favre has been slapped with a $10,000 fine for his illegal crackback block of Texans defensive back Eugene Wilson in Monday night's game against the Texans.
Favre went at Wilson's knees as he was attempting to tackle Percy Harvin, and Wilson had to leave the game with a knee injury. Wilson's knee will be fine, though, and he will not miss any time.
Completely agree with the NFL on this one. It was a dirty block, and it could have inflicted serious injury. Favre should have known better. And so should coach Brad Childress, who had Favre split out as a wide receiver in the wildcat formation.
What was he thinking?
