- The Lions, Chiefs and Eagles have already matched or exceeded last year's win totals, and the Cardinals and Saints can join them with wins this weekend.

- Falcons tight end Tony Gonzalez is six away from his 16th career 50-catch season, a feat bettered by only one man in NFL history: Hall of Fame wide receiver Jerry Rice, who has 17.

- Are the Panthers, who have won four straight, for real? They'll find out on Sunday, when they visit the 49ers, who have won five straight. For Carolina, it's only the second game of the season against a team with a winning record. They lost the opener at home to Seattle.
