The attorney for former Jets employee Jenn Sterger said he has begun discussions with the NFL, but that no final determination has been made whether Sterger will speak with the league about its ongoing investigation into allegations that Brett Favre sent her inappropriate texts and photos in 2008.

Joseph Conway told Newsday today that he was in contact with the league, although he declined to disclose details of the talks.

"We've been hired to investigate and look into and advise her as far as potential remedies she has, including whether she should speak with the NFL or not," Conway said. "In terms of talking to the NFL, there is a dialogue, but no decisions have been made" about whether or not Sterger will speak to the league.

Sterger was a Jets game day host when Favre was the team's quarterback two years ago. The website reported in August that Favre had sent suggestive messages and lewd photos to Sterger during the 2008 season. Earlier this month, the website published audio of some of the messages, as well as photos Favre allegedly sent.

Favre met yesterday with Milt Ahlerich, the NFL's director of security, in Minnesota. Favre has not commented directly on the Deadspin reports, but has not issued any denials.
