RGIII to wear brace all season
Redskins quarterback Robert Griffin III is keeping his sights set on the season-opener as his return from knee surgery, and all indications are looking good so far. But just as a precaution, Griffin said he'll wear a brace on his knee for the entire season.
“I don’t know if I’ll wear it forever. I know I’ll wear it for the rest of the season,” Griffin said after practice on Monday.
Griffin wore a brace for the entire 2010 season at Baylor after tearing his ACL the year before. He did not wear the brace in 2011, the year he won the Heisman Trophy.
“After the first time I had the injury I wore it for a year and I thought I’d wear it for the rest of my life,” Griffin said. “The next year came around and I took it off, won a Heisman and did a whole lot of other things. It just depends on how the leg feels. I don’t plan on wearing it past this season, but it all depends on what happens.”
