Scobee re-ups with Jaguars
The Jaguars have signed veteran kicker Josh Scobee to a new deal just ahead of the 4 p.m. deadline to sign players designated with the franchise tag.
Scobee has been the Jags' kicker since being drafted in the fifth round of the 2004 draft. In eight seasons, he has made 78.8 percent of his field goals and made 254 of 257 extra point attempts.
Scobee had one of his best games last season, connecting on four field goals attempts (54,54, 22, 51) in a win over the Ravens. Per Tania Ganguli of the Florida Times-Union, the new deal is worth $13.8 million. It includes a $3.75 million signing bonus and a guaranteed $1 million salary in 2012.
