Vince Young was once thought to be the next superstar quarterback in the NFL. But Young, the third overall pick of the 2006 draft, following a brilliant career at Texas, is now looking for a job. Again.

The Bills released Young today after acquiring Tarvaris Jackson in a trade with the Seattle Seahawks on Sunday.

Young spilled the beans on his Twitter account this morning, writing, “I want to thank the Bills organization for the opportunity and wish the organization and my teammates good luck this season. Respect Bills fans.”

Young was trying out for a backup position to starter Ryan Fitzpatrick, but the Bills decided to go in a different direction. He was a backup last year to Michael Vick in Philadelphia. Young was released by the Titans after the 2010 season. He had fallen out of favor early on with head coach Jeff Fisher, and never earned his trust.
