Just minutes after the 49ers announced that cornerback Eric Wright, who had been traded from Tampa over the weekend, failed his physical and would not added to San Francisco's roster, the Bucs have decided to release Wright.
Per Rick Stroud of the Tampa Times, the team will place Wright on waivers on Monday.

A trade that would have sent cornerback Eric Wright from the Buccaneers to the 49ers has been voided after it was announced he had failed the 49ers' physical.

The Bucs loaded up on the secondary in free agency, signing Jets cornerback Darrelle Revis and 49ers safety Dashon Goldson in an effort to shore up the team's biggest problem. So it's no surprise that they gave Eric Wright, a high-priced free agent in 2012, the heave-ho.

The 49ers addressed arguably their biggest need today by signing former Eagles cornerback Nnamdi Asomugha to a one-year contract. The deal was first reported by NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.
