Since he's in the final season of a two-year, $5.2-million deal, the future Hall of Fame running back is clearly aware it might be his final game as a Jet in the new stadium.
"When you know this is your last year on your deal, you always think about it being potentially your last time playing there in that stadium," the 32-year-old said Wednesday. "So it's something I've thought about this week."
However, Tomlinson said it's not something that'll run through his mind. "Probably not," he said. "I think once it's game day, you kind of start thinking about the things you need to get done at that point."
Pettine not down on 'D'
Even though they're ranked seventh overall, allowing 317 yards per game, the Jets haven't been all that consistent defensively this season. It's been essentially a weekly roller coaster, the latest twists and turns coming Sunday in Philadelphia.
But Mike Pettine isn't disappointed in his unit's showing in 2011. "No," the defensive coordinator said. "It's a year where you're going to have your ups, you're going to have your downs. We've had our moments, but at the same time, we're perfectionists, there is always room for improvement. It's a group that we feel there is a special chemistry with, and we love going to war with them on Sundays."
WR Jeremy Kerley (illness) was sent home again and didn't practice, but Ryan thinks he'll play Saturday . . . Special teams coordinator Mike Westhoff said of former P Steve Weatherford, now with the Giants, "might be the best year he's had." . . . Fans are encouraged to wear green to the game, and white rally towels with the words "Green It" will be distributed.
