OFFENSE: A

Who would’ve thought Ryan Fitzpatrick would outplay Eli Manning? The Jets quarterback showed more poise and commanded the offense when it counted most, completing 36 of 50 passes for 390 yards — second-most of his career. The unit also overcame a second-quarter Chris Ivory fumble, lots of boneheaded penalties, and three sacks by the Giants. A breakout day by backup running back Bilal Powell (eight catches for 91 yards, including a 25-yard TD) and monster performances by Brandon Marshall (12 catches, 131 yards) and Eric Decker (eight catches, 101 yards) were key. Marshall and Deckers’ 18 combined TDs are the most since Keyshawn Johnson (10) and Wayne Chrebet (eight) in 1998. Marshall also became the first Jet since Jericho Cotchery (2007) to have 1,000 receiving yards in a season and the first NFL player to hit 1,000-plus yards with four different teams.

DEFENSE: B+

The Jets didn’t let Odell Beckham, Jr. beat them (although, it was close). The Giants receiver caught a jaw-dropping, one-handed 22-yard catch and also had a 72-yard catch-and-run TD. But Todd Bowles’ defense made just enough stops to stave off Manning & Co. Rontez Miles’ first career INT came on a fourth-down throw from the Jets’ 4 with 8:50 to go in regulation — a play that ended an 11:20 scoreless Giants drive. Though Beckham reached 100 receiving yards for the fifth straight game, Manning finished just 18 of 34 for 297 yards, one TD, one INT and three sacks. Bayville’s Mike Catapano recorded his first sack of the season, rookie Leonard Williams logged his first full sack and Muhammad Wilkerson picked up his ninth.

SPECIAL TEAMS: D

Bobby April’s unit has been bad, but this was a new low. Giants receiver Dwayne Harris had an 80-yard punt return TD and 43-yard return in OT. “Any time you give up a punt return, you don’t have a good special teams day regardless of what else happens,” Bowles said . . . Randy Bullock made all thre FG attempts.

COACHING: B

Give Chan Gailey credit: He called a good game. Better yet, the Jets players didn’t fold. Aside from getting a must-win, Bowles should also be commended for benching one of their best players, Wilkerson, for the first quarter.
