The Jets have invited three veteran free agents to this week's three-day minicamp: tight end Kellen Winslow Jr., wide receiver Mike Sims-Walker and defensive lineman Leger Douzable.
Winslow, 29, the sixth overall pick in 2004, caught 82 passes for 1,106 yards and five touchdowns with the Browns in 2007. He had 2,377 receiving yards in three years with the Bucs (2009-11) and played in one game (one catch, 12 yards) for the Patriots last season.
With the departure of tight end Dustin Keller, who signed with the Dolphins, the Jets have Jeff Cumberland, Konrad Reuland and former rugby star Hayden Smith on their roster.
Sims-Walker, a third-round pick in 2008, spent the bulk of his career in Jacksonville and has 134 catches for 1,798 yards and 14 touchdowns. Douzable has played for several teams in his five-year career, including a brief stint with the Giants in 2008. He has played defensive end and tackle and has one career sack.
