He's a proven veteran, who reminds Rex Ryan of Jerricho Cotchery. But there only are so many spots for wide receivers, especially with the recent activation of Santonio Holmes off the physically unable to perform list. Massaquoi arrived last week, following his release from the Jaguars, and caught two passes in three targets for 36 yards against the Giants. Jets on the bubble for final roster spots

Competition . . . competition . . . competition. It seems to be the only word the Jets feel comfortable uttering around these days. From the start of minicamp to now, the front office and coaches have said just about every roster spot is up for grabs. With a little over a week until their regular-season opener, the Jets still have yet to announce their starting quarterback. But the same is true for some bubble guys looking to make an impression.
