The Jets' courtship of LaDainian Tomlinson continues.

Tomlinson is expected to have dinner with GM Mike Tannenbaum and Rex Ryan later this evening, reportedly at Trump National Golf Club in Bedminster, N.J.

Tomlinson spent the entire day with the Jets, who did their best to roll out the red carpet for the guy who's currently No. 8 on the NFL's all-time rushing list with 12,490 yards and third all-time with 153 TDs. He toured The Hangar, spent time with some of the staff and also got a chance to meet a few of the players. Like WR David Clowney, for instance.

Tomlinson will remain in town overnight, partly because there are no flights to the West Coast he can take once he's finished presumably yucking it up with Rex at dinner. His itinerary for tomorrow hasn't been determined, so the Jets might be wise to utilize every possible second he's still in town to continue throwing whatever recruiting ideas they might have at him.

He reportedly already has visits lined up with the Saints and Eagles next week, but there's also talk that L.T. might end up simply choosing between the Jets and Vikings. He could make a decision on where he'll play next year as soon as this weekend.

Tomlinson was said to be wowed during his visit to Minnesota, and from what I understand from a person I spoke to, Tomlinson absolutely loves the idea of possibly playing with -- wait for it -- Brett Favre. So, if you know who is indeed planning on returning, that could give the Vikings the edge.

As always, we'll monitor the situation.

Perhaps trying to fire a salvo back at the Jets since they're hosting the guy they cut, the Chargers inked a former Jet today. Ok, so we kid. We kid.

CB Donald Strickland, a good guy but oft-injured in his one season with the Jets, was signed by San Diego, reportedly to a two-year deal.
