FLORHAM PARK. N.J. - Michael Vick may be having second thoughts about his New York radio debut.

A day after WFAN radio host Mike Francesa announced the Jets backup quarterback will do a weekly spot on his show, Vick told a few reporters in the locker room Wednesday that his appearances are up in the air until he gets some "answers first."

The news of the on-air pairing came as a shock, considering Vick's status on the team and Francesa's strained relationship with the Jets.

On Tuesday, a Jets spokesman told Newsday that the team had not been made aware of Vick's agreement with WFAN. But according to Francesa, the deal was made between the station and Vick's representative.

"Now it sounds like Vick doesn't want to do it. I don't know," Francesa said on air Wednesday. "I've never talked to Vick about this. This has been handled by the program director and his agent. And they came to us and they asked me if I wanted to do it and I said, 'Yeah, sure.' And I was a little surprised the Jets said yes. And I guess the Jets didn't have to give their blessing.

"Now, the Jets in the past, I can say this for the record, canceled a show with Rex Ryan and myself and canceled a show with Mark Sanchez and myself that we had booked during the years -- that both sides tried to get done, including their agents. Years ago, and the Jets stopped both of those. So I thought the same thing would happen this time. And I guess it didn't, but now Vick may be pulling back, not wanting to talk each week. I don't know. We'll see.

"So I guess, maybe he'll be with us Tuesday and maybe he won't be with us. I have no idea. I don't know what Vick's thinking. I have no idea. But you know, we'll see what he says."
