Add Angelo, Khan and Idzik to GM list
Taking a page for Mike Tannenbaum's book, Woody Johnson promised this week that "no stone will be left unturned" in his search for a new general manager.
Well, on Wednesday, more -- and more -- names started circulating.
According to multiple reports, the Jets plan to interview former Bears GM Jerry Angelo, Steelers executive Omar Khan and Seattle's vice president of football adminstration John Idzik. Per CBS Sports' Jason La Canfora, Khan is expected to meet with owner Woody Johnson on Thursday and Idzik is set to interview on Friday.
After losing out on two GM candidates in the past two days, the Jets made a point to significantly widen their search. Dolphins assistant general manager Brian Gaine is reportedly interviewing with the Jets this week. A league source confirmed that Chargers director of player personnel Jimmy Raye III has been given permission to interview with the Jets -- but it's unclear whether the interview will take place.
Jim Popp, the GM of CFL Montreal Alouettes, is on the Jets' radar as well, according to the Daily News.
(Hey, remember when Tom Gamble seemed like the clear favorite?)
