Braylon Edwards defends Mark Sanchez, blasts 'idiots calling the shots'
**Updated @ 1:55 p.m.**
Braylon Edwards took to Twitter again -- this time to apologize for his comments about the "idiots" in the Jets front office who are at the root of Mark Sanchez's struggles.
"I would like to apologize to the Jets family and my fans for my emotional outburst," tweeted Edwards, who was interested in playing for those same "idiots" in the offseason.
Team Aniston. Team Jolie.
Team Edward. Team Jacob.
Now, it's Team Sanchez. Team McElroy.
It seems everyone has an opinion on the Jets' three-quarterback controversy. And Braylon Edwards is one of them. The former Jets wide receiver defended his former starting quarterback Mark Sanchez, who was benched in favor of third-stringer Greg McElroy.
"Don't blame Sanchez," Edwards, who played 28 games for the Jets between 2009 and 2010, tweeted Tuesday morning. "I played there. Blame the idiots calling shots. Mark is a beast and will probe (sic) it when given a proper chance."
Though Edwards, now a receiver for the Seattle Seahawks, didn't specifically name-drop, it's safe to say he was referring, at the very least, to Jets owner Woody Johnson and general manager Mike Tannenbaum.
Former Jets running back Rob Carpenter echoed Edwards' sentiments on Twitter as well.
"So Braylon sounded off huh?" tweeted Carpenter, who was with the Jets from 1992-94. "You might not like what he said....but is he wrong? Nope!!!"
