In the latest installment of NFL Network's “The Revis Project,” the Jets cornerback said he’s neither fueled by, nor fearful, of Adrian Peterson’s remarkable, eight-month recovery from ACL and MCL surgery.

Asked by reporter Andrea Kremer if Peterson’s resurgence is “pressure or motivation,” Revis responded: “Neither."

"Even though we both had ACL injuries, we play two different positions," he said. "I can’t compare myself to what he has done. I just need to focus on what I’m doing and stay in my own lane.”

Revis reiterated his lowest point to date was “that split-second” when he tore his ACL on the Sun Life Stadium turf back in October. “After that, the only thing I could do is surround myself around my close family and friends and have patience,” he said.

It remains to be seen when Revis will be back on the field competitively. And the cornerback knows that’s the only thing fans -- and NFL teams -- care about.

“I know that’s the big question,” he said with a smile. “I just want to be ready by training camp – to play football. I believe in my talents. I believe this is a bump in the road for me and I’ll get back to where I need to be, only because I know how competitive I am. I compete. Did it my whole life and I’ll continue to do it until I’m gone.”

Kremer said Revis reached an exciting milestone this past Monday: running on a treadmill that was unloaded (45 pounds were lifted off of him).

Revis currently is doing stop, plant and change direction drills and, according to Kremer, said he’s on pace to run outside with no weights in 4-6 weeks.

As for all the recent trade speculation, Revis told Kremer: "None of the trade talks matter if I am not healthy and back to All-Pro form."
