Caldwell's agent just announced, via Twitter, that both sides have reached an agreement in principle.

Dave Caldwell's second interview with the Jets must not have gone that well.

The Falcons' director of player personnel will be named the new general manager of the Jacksonville Jaguars, according to Fox Sports' Jay Glazer. Both sides are still trying to hammer out a deal.

It seemed this morning that the stars might be aligned for Caldwell to land with the Jets, after he traveled to Florham Park for his second interview with owner Woody Johnson. But now tha the's out of the mix, the Jets are now down to 49ers' director of player personnel Tom Gamble, Giants' director of college scouting Marc Ross, in-house assistant GM Scott Cohen, and possibly, Packers' exec John Dorsey (although that seems very slim).

Or, the Jets could wind up with someone else entirely.

Stay tuned, folks.
