If the ever-popular Tim Tebow received an invite to Jets West, it’s safe to assume Geno Smith’s invitation should be arriving any second now. Right?

When asked on Wednesday whether he’ll head out to California to join Mark Sanchez and the rest of the skill players in their annual offseason retreat, Smith replied: “No comment.”

When a reporter followed up and asked why he wouldn’t/couldn’t answer the question.

“I’d rather not comment on that,” said the rookie.

When asked point-blank if he was invited to attend Jets West, Smith gave another “No comment.”

To make matters even more confusing, Sanchez wouldn’t say whether he invited Smith to tag along.

“We’ll just get through mini-camp for now,” the fifth-year quarterback said when asked about his plans for Jets West. “We’ll cross the Jets West bridge when we get there.”

When pressed further about extending an invitation to Smith, Sanchez said: “Listen, we’ll get to Jets West when we get there. Everyone’s always been invited.”
