Nothing but Jets

New York Jets news, commentary and insider info from beat writer Kimberley A. Martin.

Guess who's back?

Stop worrying, Jets fans. RB Danny Woodhead has returned.

I mentioned below in the today's practice report that it sounded like Woodhead was coming back into the mix, and it's official now. The Jets have re-signed the generously-listed 5-9 scat back and placed him on the eight-man practice squad, releasing FB Jehuu Caulcrick to make room for him.

Woodhead was cut on Sunday when the Jets added four players to their roster, just a day after he had made the 53-man team. He led the Jets in rushing in the preseason with 226 yards, which includes that solid showing against the Eagles Thursday when he ran for 158 yards and two touchdowns on 18 carries.

Caulcrick, a second-year player out of Michigan State, had been signed to the practice squad yesterday, two days after his initial release.
