According to multiple outlets, the Jaguars have requested permission to interview Rams offensive coordinator Brian Schottenheimer for their head-coaching vacancy.

Schottenheimer – who spent six seasons with the Jets – interviewed with the Jaguars last year, too, but ultimately landed the OC job in St. Louis. Though he and Rex Ryan ultimately didn't see eye-to-eye on play-calling, Schotty has developed a reputation for developing quarterbacks through his work with Mark Sanchez and Sam Bradford.

Niners OC Greg Roman also is being considered for the Jaguars’ job. He and Jacksonville’s new GM, Dave Caldwell, were college roommates at John Carroll University in Ohio.
