As noted earlier, the Jets will open the season against Tampa Bay in the much-anticipated “Revis Bowl.”

Rex Ryan made sure to steer clear of the Revis topic during his Thursday night conference call with reporters. The coach, who noted that 23 writers were on the call, would only say that he’s happy to be opening up the season at home for the fourth straight season.

Ryan also wasn’t the least bit surprised that the Jets have just two primetime games on the schedule – a clear indication that the league sees the team as rebuilding.

“Certainly last year, with the record we had, it’s not surprising that we would only have two,” Rex Ryan said Thursday night on a conference call with reporters.
