Kellen Winslow, Jr. had just three days to prove he’s still got it.

And it seems he has.

Though the free-agent tight end said after Thursday’s final mandatory minicamp practice that he still hadn’t been told whether the Jets planned to sign him after completing his three-day tryout, Rex Ryan seemed to hint a deal was imminent.

“Well, again, I’m not going to discuss that now,” the Jets coach said with a big smile, when asked before practice if the team planned to sign Winslow.

“But I see exactly what you see. That athleticism and his ability to catch the football, it certainly jumps out.”

Winslow, who hasn’t played a complete 16-game season since 2011, admitted he was rusty. But he has no doubt he can be another playmaker for the Jets.

“I've always been hungry,” he said. “Whenever I step out on the football field, I want to beat my opponent. I just want to help this team and make plays for them.

“…I am a dynamic player. We have bigger bodies (on the roster) and I'm more of a receiver type. Everybody's a playmaker on this team.”

Truth be told, the Jets are desperate to add another skill player with their No. 1 receiver, Santonio Holmes, iffy to play Week 1.

Jets general manager John Idzik said he appreciated the chance to see Winslow over a three-day period rather than taking a quick look at him during a standard workout.

“We’ll talk about (signing Winslow),” general manager John Idzik said. “What's nice about minicamp environments, you get three days, unlike when you bring street guys in for free-agent workouts, you may get them on the field for 45 minutes to an hour.

“In minicamps, we get three days with them to teach them some things and see how they apply it. We thought Kellen did a nice job given the fact he got off the plane, got into a meeting and a couple hours later, he got out on the field. All things considered, he did a pretty good job.”
