Tom Gamble, the 49ers' director of player personnel, remains atop the Jets' GM wishlist.

But late Sunday night, ESPN's Adam Schefter reported the Jets are "eyeing" another GM candidate as well.

The Jets, of course, aren't the only team interested in landing Gamble. According to Schefter, the 49ers' exec will interview on Tuesday with the Chargers. Gamble reportedly canceled his second interview with the Jaguars in order to focus on the Jets, but he is expected to meet with the Browns.

There was speculation the Jets had already offered Gamble a job offer, but sources told Newsday this past weekend that that was untrue. The expectation is to have a GM in place by the Super Bowl.

The Jets will interview Giants' director of college scouting Marc Ross and their assistant GM Scott Cohen today.
