The Jets are just one of a handful of teams interested in acquiring former Dolphin Karlos Dansby.

The free-agent inside linebacker has received “a ton of interest” from NFL teams, according to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, but Dansby is being “a little picky.”

Arizona sports radio host John Gambadoro reported Dansby, 31, had a “good meeting” with the Cardinals Thursday, but both sides didn’t discuss a contract. Gambadoro added the Jets, Texans and Falcons have also expressed interest in Dansby, who also has visited the Bengals and Bills.

Currently, the Jets have David Harris and second-year linebacker Demario Davis as their starters.

Dansby signed a five-year, $43 million contract with Miami in 22010 -- a deal that paid him $22 million guaranteed, earning him the richest contract for an inside linebacker in NFL history, before Patrick Willis's five-year, $50 million contract. Dansby was released from the Dolphins in March.

Given the Jets salary cap situation at the start of the offseason, new Jets general manager John Idzik has had no choice but to spend wisely. But he’s made the best of a tough situation by addressing areas of need on a budget.
