RB Bradshaw 'kinda thinking about the Jets'

Former Giants running back Ahmad Bradshaw said he isn't opposed to joining his former rival.

Bradshaw, who was cut last week (along with linebacker Michael Boley and defensive tackle Chris Canty), recently brought up the option of playing for Rex Ryan and the Jets.

“Whatever, whoever needs me, whoever can use me. Whoever I feel that I can get a better chance of playing and helping which team,” the running back said during an appearance on NFL Network. “The New York Jets are a team that I’ve kinda been thinking about, just to stay home, not make a big move from New York. It’s just right across the street from where I am now.”

The Giants cut Bradshaw, Boley and Canty as a means of a clearing cap space -- and the Jets, as we all know, don't have much cap room. It remains to be seen what new general manager John Idzik wants to do with Shonn Greene, who is set to become a free agent.

Bradshaw has carried the Giants' running game on two bad feet, but the soon-to-be 27-year-old is constantly injured. And Bradshaw knows his health will be a sticking point for potential suitors.

“I am just trying to get as healthy as I can before I talk to any team," he said. "I haven’t really talked to anybody. Feel like this surgery was very well needed; I feel better already. I should have gone through the surgery last year instead of getting the stem cell, but I felt great after getting the stem cell last year; I felt it was a great success. It felt great up until the sixth or seventh game last year and I played through pain the rest of the season. [After having the latest surgery] I will be ready to go for whoever I play for this [coming year].”

Jets linebacker Bart Scott -- who is expected to be cut soon in order to clear cap room -- told Newsday last week that Bradshaw, who was undergoing surgery in North Carolina the same day as Scott, was aware the Giants might cut him.
