Revis: I want Moss...
Darrelle Revis isn’t taking any chances. And neither are the Jets.
After being relegated an untested patrolman on the left side of the field in Monday’s loss to Baltimore, the Jets cornerback asked to tail Patriots’ receiver Randy Moss this Sunday.
And Rex Ryan didn’t object.
“Rex is smart and he was just looking out for my best interest (by) not putting everything on my plate the first game,” said Revis. “Easing my way back in and just get used to the game again. This week, I’m getting back into my regular routine and following them everywhere they go.”
The cornerback said he expects Patriots QB Tom Brady and Moss to test him -- especially since it appears Moss still harbors some resentment over Revis’ “slouch” comment last season.
On Tuesday during an ESPN interview, Moss said: "I guess he's entitled to say what he wants to say. Then again, we're coming to the Meadowlands on Sunday, man. So you got 60 minutes of this slouch.”
Responded Revis: “He probably said it with a laugh, but it’s been in his mind for the whole offseason. And he’s been working hard for this day to come. So I’m expecting him to play his A-plus game. I don’t expect anything less when I play against Randy. When I played him the first game of the year, I called him a slouch for a reason. That game I felt like he played like a slouch. That’s the simple point. I still have respect for him. He’s one of the best in the league.”
When reminded that he made the comment about Moss in January, Revis replied: “Whenever I said it, you guys know I said it. That’s how i felt that particular time.”
