After interviewing last week with the Jets, former Broncos GM Ted Sundquist is now being labeled a "sleeper candidate" for Mike Tannenbaum's old job.

ESPN's Adam Schefter tweeted this on Monday night: "Keep hearing former Broncos GM Ted Sundquist was particularly impressive last Thursday when interviewing for Jets GM job. Sleeper candidate."

Sundquist was hired in 1992 as the Broncos player personnel assistant and two years later promoted was promoted to director of college Scouting. In 2001, he was named Denver's GM.

But after the Broncos missed the NFL playoffs two seasons in 2007 & 2008, former coach Mike Shanahan announced Ted Sundquist "is no longer with the team, effective immediately," per The Denver Post.

In all, Sundquist spent 16 years with the Broncos -- the last six as their GM.
