[Updated] Wilkerson (concussion/knee) to miss practice

A team spokesman later told reporters Wilkerson suffered the concussion late in the San Diego game. The defensive lineman didn't show any concussion symptoms until after the game. He is going through a battery of tests now. During practice, he was spotted, on the far field, jogging alongside CB Ellis Lankster (concussion.)
At some point during Sunday’s loss to San Diego, Muhammad Wilkerson suffered a concussion and a knee injury.
Rex Ryan made the surprising announcement during his Wednesday press conference, adding that the star defensive lineman will have to miss practice.
However, Wilkerson -- who played 100 percent of the defensive snaps in their 27-17 loss to the Chargers -- showed no sign of injury during the game. Ryan, who found out about Wilkerson’s concussion yesterday, said it was “news to me.”
The coach continued to tout Wilkerson – who has 66 tackles, five sacks and three forced fumbles -- for Pro Bowl consideration. But if the second-year defensive can’t suit up for the season finale in Buffalo, Ryan said “it would be a big concern.”
Speaking of the Pro Bowl, the selections will be announced tonight.
To no surprise, Ryan said cornerback Antonio Cromartie is “definitely deserving” of consideration. In addition to Cro and Wilkerson, the Jets coach also said he hopes safety LaRon Landry gets recognized too. On offense? Ryans mentioned D’Brickashaw Ferguson, Nick Mangold and Brandon Moore.
