Vick would consider Jets if he's made No. 1
If the Jets are willing to make the commitment, Micheal Vick's willing to come to the Big Apple.
The recently-demoted Eagles QB would be willing to sign with the Jets if Rex Ryan & Co. made it clear he was their No. 1 guy, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, who cited "sources who have spoken to Michael Vick."
Vick, who turns 33 in June, told local reporters he still has a lot more to give to the game and wants to be a starter again.
"I've always felt like and will continue to feel like I'm one of the best and can play at a high level...I want to be out there," he told the Philadelphia Daily News. "I want to play, but it's just not the ideal situation right now."
The Jets, of course, have their own QB drama to sort through before we get to 2013. Ryan benched his season-long starter Mark Sanchez in favor of third-string QB Greg McElroy. It seems Sanchez's time as the face of the franchise is over -- though Ryan wouldn't give any indication either way on Wednesday. The fourth-year quarterback is due a guaranteed $8.25 million next season. Vick, on the other hand, is due $15.5 million.
And there is, of course, the issue of Tim Tebow.
(Where do we begin with that?)
