Westhoff denies involvement
Mike Westhoff said he never told anybody to flank the sidelines to discourage Miami's special teams gunners from running out of bounds while covering kicks, a theory that's currently being suggested by some.
This, of course, all stems from the Sal Alosi tripping incident of Nolan Carroll on Sunday, which led to Alosi being suspended for the rest of the season and postseason without pay and also fined an additional $25,000.
“Number one, I did not instruct anyone," Westhoff, the longtime special teams coordinator, said in a statement. "Number two, I was not aware. With all of the people on the sidelines, it would be inconsequential and I would not be involved in any way, shape or form."
