Since joining Newsday in November 2007, Kimberley A. Martin has covered everything from local news to high school sports to the Super Bowl. In 2011, she was named the National Association of Black Journalists' "Emerging Journalist of the Year" for her outstanding achievement and balanced coverage of the black community and society at large. After spending two years as a general assignment sports reporter, Kimberley was promoted to the New York Jets beat in April 2012.
Before coming to Newsday, she worked as a local sports reporter for The Record in Hackensack, N.J.
Kimberley received her B.A. in Psychology and African American Studies from Wesleyan University in 2003 and her M.A. in Newspaper, Magazine & Online Journalism from Syracuse University in 2006. Prior to grad school, she worked at an investment firm in Midtown Manhattan.
Regardless of who the Jets tab as their season starter, Michael Vick will always be No. 1 on game day.

The NFL released the season schedules for all 32 teams Wednesday night, and the Jets have the ninth-toughest schedule, according to ESPN Stats and Information. They’ll open up the season at home against the Oakland Raiders, before traveling to Green Bay to face the Packers in Week 2.

The Jets announced Wednesday that they will return to SUNY Cortland for training camp.
The Central New York campus has served as the site for Jets training camp every year since Rex Ryan became head coach (2009) except one. In 2011, the team was forced to use their practice facility due to the NFL lockout.
