Nothing but Jets
New York Jets news, commentary and insider info from beat writer Kimberley A. Martin.
Looks like the Patriots aren't taking Rex Ryan's advice to rest Rob Gronkowski for another week.
In a text message distributed to several media outlets Friday morning, Gronkowski's agent Drew Rosenhaus confirmed the Patriots tight end is a go for Week 7.
"Rob has now been cleared by all his doctors to play Sunday in the Jets game," Rosenhaus wrote.

Hours after his Wednesday press conference with the media had ended, Rex Ryan held an impromptu – and rather awkward – evening meeting with Jets beat writers in order to clarify the comments he recently made to his players.
The confusion all began in the locker room when newest Jet, Josh Cribbs, was explaining just how focused his new head coach is on beating the Patriots.
“I saw it...Read more »

According to multiple reports out of Boston Jerod Mayo is expected to miss the rest of the season after undergoing surgery on a torn pectoral muscle Tuesday.

In a surprising move, the Jets announced Tuesday that they've placed WR/KR Clyde Gates on season-ending injured-reserve, as well as running back Mike Goodson.
Gates, who suffered a left shoulder injury in their loss to the Steelers, was optimistic Monday that he could play against the Patriots. But at the time, he was still awaiting MRI results. Goodson, meanwhile, confirmed Monday...Read more »
A day after Rex Ryan hinted the Jets were looking for "a playmaker," a source confirmed to Newsday that the team plans to sign Josh Cribbs Tuesday.
The Jets have shown interest in Cribbs since the offseason. The former Browns kick returner and wide receiver worked out for the Jets in May, though Jets general manager John Idzik told reporters Cribbs "wasn't quite" fully-healed...Read more »

As expected, Antonio Cromartie will be active against the Steelers Sunday.
The Jets cornerback was questionable for the game on Friday, a day after he hyperextended his right knee in practice. Hours before kickoff, Cromartie, donning pink cleats for Breast Cancer Awareness month, did some light running and cutting on the field.
In some other non-surprising news, the Jets will be without...Read more »
