Rex Ryan said the Jets offense is getting better, even though it scored zero points last week in Seattle. Offensive coordinator Tony Sparano agrees.
"I think we're improving in the run game," he said. "We're improving in the protection area. We're improving within the structure of identification of fronts, coverages, all those areas. Our short-yardage, goal-line -- although...

Cornerback Antonio Cromartie denied being one of the sources for the Tebow-bashing story. Former Jets running back LaDainian Tomlinson had pointed the finger at Cromartie and linebacker Bart Scott on his radio show.
"I heard it, but I have no response for a retired player," Cromartie said. "If I say something I put my name to anything I want to say. I really don't care if I...

Shonn Greene denied he was calling for Tim Tebow to replace Mark Sanchez as the Jets’ QB, as was reported last night in a column on Yahoo! Sports.
“What the quotes were was completely out of context,” Greene said. “What I said was, ‘We’re 3-6 and things need to change.’ I said nothing about changing quarterback, nothing about any single person on this team. I’ve been here four years I’ve never...

Contrary to popular opinion, Jets owner Woody Johnson denied he had a heavy hand in bringing Tim Tebow here. Johnson fired back at reporters during the team’s practice Thursday for “accusing” him of being PSL-driven.
“This phony story about me being more concerned with PSLs or cash or something else,” he fired back. “Listen, my job 1, 2 and 3 is to win games. That’s why I got into football...

Woody Johnson wouldn’t speak specifically about the long-term future of head coach or general manager, but the Jets owner made it clear Thursday that he’s not happy with the team’s losing record.
Johnson said he was in “a lot of pain” this week, following the team’s 28-7 loss in Seattle last week, and said it was “a miserable experience for us” and for their fans.”
But the team owner...

Rex Ryan is a firm believer in free speech.
Even if he’s not entirely sure which Constitutional amendment (First, by the way), that right falls under.
When pressed about Tim Tebow’s hurt feelings following anonymous bashing by his teammates in a published report, the Jets coach maintained “we don’t muzzles on our guys” and that his organization is “a heck of a lot more positive than...

WR Stephen Hill missed his second straight day of practice because of an illness, but Rex Ryan was still hopeful he could play on Sunday at St. Louis.
"When it says 'illness' [on the injury report], generally guys will play," Ryan said. He also said it would be more doubtful if the illness popped up the night before the game.
S LaRon Landry (heel) also is not practicing. By...

Rex Ryan can be a pretty funny guy when he wants to be. But he wasn’t kidding on Thursday when he said of the Jets’ offense – which put up zero points on Sunday vs. Seattle – “I think we are getting better.” Ryan was in the middle of a full-throated defense of offensive coordinator Tony Sparano when he made the statement. Sparano is a hot topic this week because the Jets this Sunday will face their...
