Matt Simms' play has cost Greg McElroy his job.

The Jets -- who are in the process of slashing their roster from 75 to 53 -- decided to release McElroy, according to ESPN's Chris Mortensen.

The move was a no-brainer, considering the third-year quarterback has been hobbled by knee and ankle injuries throughout training camp and the preseason. Add to that, the play of Simms -- the Jets'...

Revis Island is headed this way.

Ex-Jet and now current Bucs cornerback Darrelle Revis will face his former club when Tampa Bay travels to MetLife Stadium for Week 1 of the regular season.

After months of rehabbing his surgically-repaired knee, Revis is expected to line up against his former teammates -- barring a setback -- Bucs coach Greg Schiano said Friday.

Revis, who was traded...

Rex Ryan has talked up Vladimir Ducasse in recent days – so much so, that it appeared the former second-round pick was a shoo-in to start the season at left guard. But the competition between Ducasse – a fourth-year lineman -- and the rookie still rages on.

“We talk about competition, and there’s a great battle between Vlad and Brian Winters for that starting guard spot. We’ll see how that...

The Jets have yet to name a starting quarterback for the season – but let’s move on from that for a moment, shall we?

With Thursday night’s game less than 12 hours away, I thought I’d take stab at projecting their final 53-man roster.

Darrelle Revis may no longer be a Jet, but his production during his six-year career with the team cannot be denied.

While he was recovering from an ACL tear that cost him his 2012 season, guys like Richard Sherman were anxious to take the throne as the NFL’s top shutdown corner. But now that Revis is back in action -- and aiming to be at full strength for the Bucs’ season opener against his...
