The Jets announced Monday afternoon that they have chosen to activate David Garrard to 53-man roster and release fellow quarterback Brady Quinn.

Brady Quinn said he learned of David Garrard’s impending arrival on Wednesday. But after a full day to process the news and a day of practice with four quarterbacks on the field, Quinn isn’t sure exactly what to make of his future with the Jets.
“They told us, ‘Hey, David was feeling better. He called and he wants to be re-evaluated. He wants to play again,” Quinn, 28, said Thursday.

Even with Mark Sanchez sitting on the injured reserve list, the Jets’ quarterback situation still is an open question unless rookie starter Geno Smith gets a grip on the turnover situation. Smith has been responsible for 11 turnovers through four games, including eight interceptions.
