Nothing but Jets

Geno Smith's job as the Jets' starting quarterback seems to be on the line every week. Rex Ryan refuses to name him the starter for the rest of the season. After each interception Smith throws, a host of fans clamor for backup Matt Simms to enter the game.
But is the heavy scrutiny warranted?

Barring a setback, it appears Stephen Hill (concussion) will face the Falcons.
The Jets receiver reportedly practiced Saturday without his red non-contact pinnie and is listed as probable for the Jets Monday Night Football game against the Falcons.
As expected, veteran receiver Santonio Holmes (hamstring) is out. So, too, are rookie cornerback Dee Milliner (hamstring) and rookie left...Read more »
In an expected move, Falcons coach Mike Smith has ruled out running back Steven Jackson for Monday night's game against the Jets.
Jackson hasn't played since Week 2 because of a hamstring injury and did not practice all week.
Earlier in the week, the Falcons (1-3) ruled out left tackle Sam Baker (knee) and linebacker Akeem Dent (sprained right ankle) for the game....Read more »
Rex Ryan confirmed Friday that a tight hamstring kept Mike Goodson out of practice and off to the side with trainers. But the Jets coach said he wasn’t “overly concerned” by the injury.
“He was a little tight today and he went with the trainers for a while,” Ryan said, when asked about Goodson spending time in the rehab area during practice. “The thing about Mike is, like we’ve said, we’ll...Read more »

For the second straight day, Stephen Hill was on the practice field. But this time, the Jets second-year wideout was wearing a red non-contact pinnie and shells.
It’s a step in the right direction for Hill, who suffered a concussion in the first quarter of Sunday’s game in Tennessee. With Santonio Holmes (hamstring) expected to be ruled out for Monday night’s game in Atlanta, the Jets and...Read more »
One day after complaining about getting only one pass reception in the Jets’ loss at Tennessee, wide receiver Santonio Holmes took to Twitter to suggest his comments were misinterpreted by that ever-present enemy: the New York-New Jersey media.
For the record, Holmes said on Thursday, “I can’t throw it to myself and catch it, otherwise I would.” Given a chance to express his thoughts on rookie...Read more »
As the cameras descended upon Quinton Coples, the Jets outside linebacker flashed his boyish grin.
“I got a letter,” he said, confirming that he had been fined by the NFL for his joint hit on Titans quarterback Jake Locker last week. “The league felt like it was a personal foul or inappropriate hit. But one thing about it, it’s up for debate. So I’m going to appeal it and we’ll go forward...Read more »
Stephen Hill was on the practice field Thursday, wearing a Jets baseball camp and shorts as he stretched alongside his teammates.
The rest of the team, however, was in full pads.
Hill, who suffered a concussion in last week’s loss to Tennessee, was not on the field for Monday's practice. But after today's warm-up period was over, he made his way to the rehab area. With an extra day to...Read more »
