Nothing but Jets
New York Jets news, commentary and insider info from beat writer Kimberley A. Martin.
Jets coach Rex Ryan spent four seasons stirring the pot to the point it bubbled over with criticism and chaos as his team’s fortunes went south the past two seasons. That continued throughout the training-camp quarterback controversy this summer between injured incumbent Mark Sanchez and rookie replacement Geno Smith.
But the Jets’ surprising 2-1 start combined with the Giants going into crisis...Read more »
Woody Johnson raised eyebrows last week when he hinted Mark Sanchez was partly to blame for his shoulder injury.
But the veteran quarterback didn't seem bothered by the comments -- at least publicly -- when pressed Monday for a response.
"Listen, I wasn’t there for the interview," Sanchez said. "I’ve talked to Woody plenty since then. It’s really a non-issue."

The 2013 Jets still are a work in progress. And so, too, is their quarterback situation.
The competition between Geno Smith and Mark Sanchez is (at least, for now) ongoing, the Jets brass said Wednesday. But both general manager John Idzik and Woody Johnson admitted quarterback stability is extremely important.
