FLORHAM PARK, N.J. – In the aftermath of their emotional win Sunday in Miami, a fired-up John Idzik pointed to Rex Ryan in the locker room and declared “This is our coach!” in front of the entire team.

But the front office’s faith in Ryan may only go so far. According to an NFL Network report, the Jets are only willing to extend the head coach’s contract for one more year.

The Jets front office has yet to weigh in, one way or the other, on Rex Ryan's fate. But according to ESPN's Adam Schefter, "there are now multiple signs pointing to" the Jets head coach returning to the team next season.

There still are "some issues to work through", however, according to Schefter.

Ryan's contract runs through the end of the 2014 season, but he likely...

Rex Ryan had hoped his team would be well represented in Hawaii.

But not one Jet – not even defensive stud Muhammad Wilkerson – was named to the 2014 Pro Bowl. Instead, center Nick Mangold and Wilkerson, a third-year defensive end, were selected as first alternates. Cornerback Antonio Cromartie, who has been battling a nagging hip injury all season, is a second alternate.

The Pro Bowl...

Is the writing on the wall for Rex Ryan? Well, the Jets coach seems to think so.

Per Fox Sports' Jay Glazer, Ryan told his players in last night's team meeting that "word on street is" that he's getting fired. And according to Glazer, Ryan asked his players to "fight" with him these next two weeks.

Ryan began the season on the proverbial hotseat with the arrival of...

Money is no object -- and apparently no obstacle for Santonio Holmes.

The Jets No. 1 receiver said Wednesday that he’s willing to take a pay cut in order to remain with the team for “the next couple of years.”

Holmes, who agreed to restructure his contract this past offseason, said he wouldn’t be opposed to taking a pay cut next season, if that’s what management wants.

In the end, it was Rex Ryan's former team that killed his chance of reaching the postseason.

The Baltimore Ravens defeated the Detroit Lions, 18-16, on Monday Night Football -- and eliminated the Jets from playoff contention in the process.

At 6-8, the Jets were a longshot to make the postseason after Sunday's 30-20 loss to the Carolina Panthers in Charlotte. They needed several teams...

Jets coach Rex Ryan positively glowed on Friday afternoon when he declared his team’s injured players all were listed as probable for Sunday’s game against Oakland at MetLife Stadium. But his training staff must have thrown a red challenge flag.

After further review Friday evening, wide receiver Stephen Hill (knee) was downgraded from probable to questionable. The move came after some cryptic...

Last season, Antonio Cromartie stepped out of the shadow of injured Darrelle Revis and showed he, too, could play like a premier cover cornerback. But with Revis having moved on to Tampa Bay as a free agent this season, Cromartie has experienced a tough year as leader of a Jets secondary that ranks only 25th in average passing yardage allowed.

Dolphins wide receiver Mike Wallace last Sunday...

Geno Smith didn't have to wait long to find out his fate.

The Jets rookie quarterback told reporters that he will, in fact, start Sunday's game against the Oakland Raiders.

Smith -- who was benched at the start of the second half of the Jets' 23-3 home-loss to Miami Sunday -- said he was informed of the coaching staff's decision by quarterbacks coach David Lee when he arrived at the...

Jeremy Kerley appeared to be pleading his case on the field hours before kickoff. But the slot receiver didn't get his way.

Kerley -- who dislocated his left elbow two weeks ago -- is one of seven inactive players for Sunday's must-win game against the Dolphins. Here's the good news for the Jets: Santonio Holmes and Antonio Cromartie will both play.

On Friday, Rex Ryan said he was "concerned"...
