Rex Ryan says tattoo isn't taboo, makes joke about Mark Sanchez

Rex Ryan's love for his wife knows no bounds.

The Jets coach maintained the tattoo on his arm of his wife sporting a No. 6 Mark Sanchez Jets jersey had more to do with his affection for Michelle than anything else.

"There's a question: Is that a real tattoo or not? I'll keep you guessing," Ryan joked. " . . . It is a tattoo I've had going on three years now. I know what you're thinking. Obviously, if Sanchez doesn't play well, that number is changing."

He confirmed the original drawing was a No. 8 jersey. But after the Jets went to back-to-back AFC title games, Ryan said on ESPN radio that he told the tattoo artist, "Man, just make it a 6" without giving it much thought.
