Miguel Maysonet's NFL journey has taken another detour. The former Stony Brook running back, who most recently spent a week with the Jets, was signed to the Redskins' practice squad Tuesday.
Washington is the sixth NFL team for the Riverhead native, who went undrafted this year. Maysonet, who turns 24 Friday, signed with the Eagles as a free agent in late April and has since spent time with the Browns, Colts, Chargers and Jets, who released him from their practice squad Oct. 22.
The 5-10, 210-pound running back was a runner-up for the Walter Payton Award as outstanding player in the Football Championship Subdivision and was the first Stony Brook player ever invited to the NFL combine.
