Well, that was quick.

Just minutes after the 49ers announced that cornerback Eric Wright, who had been traded from Tampa over the weekend, failed his physical and would not added to San Francisco's roster, the Bucs have decided to release Wright.

Per Rick Stroud of the Tampa Times, the team will place Wright on waivers on Monday.

The Bucs were planning on releasing Wright if they couldn't swing a trade, and once the deal with the 49ers collapsed, Tampa decided to do away with the talented, but troubled cornerback. Wright, who was suspended four games last year for violating the league's performance enhancing drugs policy, was arrested last week in Los Angeles for driving under the influence.
