Indianapolis - There's been plenty of speculation about the future whereabouts of Giants defensive end Osi Umenyiora and running back Brandon Jacobs. But as far as head coach Tom Coughlin is concerned, he thinks they'll both be back in 2012.

Jacobs has been mentioned as a potential salary cap casualty - he's due a $500,000 bonus in March - but Coughlin said he wants him around next season.

"Brandon's been an outstanding part of our team," Coughlin said today at the Scouting Combine. "As far as I’m concerned, he’s a big part of it."

Umenyiora has been unhappy with his current contract, which runs through the 2012 season, and has expressed an interest in having his deal reworked. He has also hinted that he'd like to be traded or released if the Giants aren't willing to extend his contract.

Asked if he expects Umenyiora back next season, Coughlin replied: "I do."
