Eagles sign RB Felix Jones
Things didn't quite work out with the running back Felix Jones the way the Cowboys had hoped, so they've moved on from the former first-round pick out of Arkansas. And Jones has moved on to Philadelphia, where he has a chance to show his old team what they'll be missing.
The Eagles signed Jones to a one-year deal. Jones will now back up starter LeSean McCoy, who will no doubt get the lion's share of the carries in Chip Kelly's new fast-paced offense.
Jones was the 22nd overall pick of the Cowboys in 2008, but injuries and inefficiency marked his career in Dallas. He rushed for just 2,728 yards and 11 touchdowns on 569 carries, eventually losing his starting job to unheralded DeMarco Murray. Jones never produced a 1,000-yard season in Dallas; the best he did was in 2010, when he gained 800 yards and scored one rushing touchdown. He also had 450 receiving yards and a TD catch that year.
